Vehicle Platforms

We provide different types of data from the suite of sensors mounted on CUIP owned cars.

Connected Vehicle Platform - Ford Fusion 2018

This connected vehicle can operate independently or in conjunction with an autonomous vehicle. The car is equipped with:

  • On-Board Unit (OBU) that broadcasts BSM via DSRC & CV2X.
  • Garmin Dashcam for scene recording.

Autonomous Vehicle Platform - Chrysler Pacifica

This platform includes all the features of the connected vehicle platform, as well as the following sensors mounted to it:

  • Roof LiDAR.
  • Forward and rear-facing cameras.
  • Radar.
  • OBU for broadcasting BSMs.
  • On-board compute nodes.
  • WiFi.

vehicle also has mounting racks on the rear, front, and roof, enabling the attachment or removal of sensors as needed.
